Building Veterans Voyage the Right Way

At Veterans Voyage, we know that trust matters.

Whether you’re booking a holiday, attending one of our Explorer Days, joining a social event, purchasing an Explorer Cap, making a donation or supporting us as a business, you deserve to know that Veterans Voyage is built on integrity, transparency and accountability.

We’re committed to doing things properly—from the way we manage our finances to the way we care for our community.

A Registered Community Interest Company

Veterans Voyage is a registered Community Interest Company (CIC), registered with Companies House.

A CIC is a special type of limited company created to benefit the community rather than exist solely to generate profit for individuals. It has a legal duty to operate in the interests of the community it serves and is regulated to ensure it continues to do so.

For us, that community is the Armed Forces community—veterans, serving personnel, reservists, military families and those who support them.

What does “Not for Profit” actually mean?

Being “not for profit” doesn’t mean we can’t make money.

Like any organisation, we need income to organise holidays, social events, Explorer Days, purchase equipment, maintain our website and cover the day-to-day costs of running Veterans Voyage.

The difference is what happens to any surplus.

Instead of being distributed as personal profit, any surplus is reinvested back into Veterans Voyage to help us grow, improve our activities and create more opportunities for the Armed Forces community.

Every ticket purchased, donation received, sponsorship agreed and Explorer Cap sold helps us move another step forward.

The Passion Behind the Logo

Veterans Voyage wasn’t created simply to organise trips.

It was created because we believe that nobody should lose the sense of belonging, friendship and shared experiences that military life often provides.

We understand that many people leave the Armed Forces and miss the camaraderie. Others live with injury, illness, disability, caring responsibilities or simply find it difficult to meet new people.

Our aim is simple:

To create opportunities for people to connect, belong and explore.

Whether someone joins us with friends or arrives knowing nobody, we want everyone to feel welcome.

Responsible Financial Management

Transparency is incredibly important to us.

Veterans Voyage operates through a dedicated business bank account with a well-established UK high street bank. Company finances are completely separate from the personal finances of our directors.

We use professional accounting software to record income and expenditure, monitor our financial position and ensure we’re planning responsibly for future commitments.

Our financial records include income from:

  • Holidays and events

  • Sponsorship

  • Donations

  • Fundraising activities

  • Merchandise sales

Alongside the costs of delivering those activities and the day-to-day running of Veterans Voyage.

As a registered CIC, we also submit annual accounts and a Community Interest Report, demonstrating how we’ve continued to deliver benefit to the community we exist to serve.

Safe and Convenient Payments

We want making a payment to Veterans Voyage to be straightforward and secure.

Depending on the activity, we can accept payments by:

  • Bank transfer

  • Debit and credit card

  • Contactless Tap to Pay

  • Secure online payment links

  • Instalment plans for selected events and holidays

Every payment is properly recorded, giving our supporters confidence that their money is handled responsibly.

Always Learning. Always Improving.

Veterans Voyage is still growing, and we’re proud of that journey.

As we continue to develop, we’ll keep reviewing our policies, procedures and governance to ensure we’re building an organisation that our community can trust for many years to come.

Our goal isn’t simply to organise great events.

It’s to build an organisation that people are proud to support.
